”Light-Filled Art for Your Home”

 

I learned early on in my childhood that I loved to create-to make something from "nothing". Creating is integral to who I am as a person and it's what gets me up every morning. I get excited to do what I love by painting and sharing that creation with someone who might make it a part of their life, too! Getting my creative start in black and white photography, I was trained to look for values, and I still use that concept today. Embracing the role of a painter has allowed me to see the world in a new way.  For me, it's all about how light makes highlights and shadows. Every painting starts out as a value study as you can see, above. It's these values and variations in light that make a painting "sing"! Therefore, I try to put that emphasis on light and shadows into all of my paintings. My subjects are varied, but they reflect my interests. There is so much subject matter in the world around us, and I'm inspired by every bit of it!
